Sms(short message service)is a text messaging service . SMS text message service introduced in
second generation(2G) .
Friedhelm Hillebrand and
Bernard Ghillebaert developed the sms concept in the
Franco-German GSM cooperation .
When sender sends a message, Sender sends Messages to a Short message service center and (SMSC) sends messages to the SMSC's recipients . (SMSC) provides a "store and forward" mechanism . If a recipient is not reachable , the (SMSC) makes the message queues . Message can encoded in three ways:default GSM 7-bit alphabet,the 8-bit data alphabet, and the 16-bit UTF-16 alphabet . It's Depend on which alphabet the subscriber has configured in the handset.
